As I mentioned in a previous post, I had to bring my 1.5 week old Z06 to the dealer this morning to replace the lower front spoiler (splitter), as the original was scratched during delivery from the car transport truck. Basically should have been a 10 minute exercise.
Well, guess what? I brought my pucks with me to give to the tech but he said he has the situation under control. I watch him put the Z on the lift, begin lifting, then he stops. Walks to the driver's side, comes back around, lowers the car, adds a metal plate back on the lift arms, and then back to raising the car.
I walk thru the service area to where my car was and check the rocker panel. Sure enough I now have a screw indentation on the under side of the rocker panel where the lift contacted my car. Nothing cracked, just an impression from the bolt that attached the lift arms. I am furious.
I told the manager and he said the damage must have already been there. A-hole!!! Then he proceeds to tell me that he will give free oil changes for my inconvenience and if the rocker ever cracks he will take of it.
I'd be raising holly hell even if they weren't giving you the runaround. The car is new and you shouldn't have to accept their incredible incompetence. If they don't know how to lift a Vette then who does? Did they just turn a $70,000 car over to a kid with a wrench in his hand? And they're complete jack-asses for trying to blow you off. I'd go right to the top of the food chain at that dealership.
It does suck that you actually handed him in his hands the solution to the problem before the problem even occurred and he refused and then goes and does what you were trying to prevent anyway but others are right, trying to fix this minor indentation (trust me, it would bother me for a few days as well) could make it worse though.
I would take the free oil changes (make sure that they DO use your pucks when you come in though of course) and maybe try and squeeze some free detailing supplies or something from the parts department out of him and call it a day.
I'd go right to the owner and explain to him the situation(tell him about the pucks) and advise him that they should train their incompetent techs a little better. You didn't buy 70k + car to have it marred by the place who should know better than anyone how to protect it.
If it's just an slight indent I would take the oil changes and just talk to the owner to let him know how displeased you are....It may be more of a nightmare in the long run trying to get them to replace the rockers....

But that sucks anyway! I would think they would be aware of the potential problems with "lifting" the Vette.

Start with the service manager and the service writer. Arrange a meeting with both of them present in an office away from the service bay. I went through this at a dealer here in Vegas and ever since they have have gone the extra mile to take care of my car.
I don't think I would have the panel replaced if it involves what others here have stated, but I wouldn't let it go without expressing your opinion.
Don't get your oil changed at a dealership that has to jack up your car. Find one with a pit that you drive over. Otherwise it will always be an issue.
No one is yelling for them to give you a brand new car at least!
Things like this always suck.
Take a deep breath, settle down and then go talk to someone. You will come across as a gentleman and not a jerk and they will treat you with respect I am sure.
Good luck

I agree with the above---go to the owner and make at least a "small deal" out of it. And fill out a customer service survey form giving them a bad rating. I'd expect this at a indy shop for oil changes or mufflers, not at a dealership.
While the oil changes are nice, they're costing the dealership next to nothing, even if they'd cost you a bundle.
