Well, I was called by the dealer to come in to discuss the bolt from their lift that went into my rocker panel on monday. Brand new Z06.
I have decided not to repair it as it is on the bottom side of the rocker and it is only a deep impression.
I am getting free oil changes as compensation and if the paint chips on the rocker or any crack develops the dealership will take responsibility.
I was also informed that they fired the Tech who caused the entire incident. I feel badly but he was careless.
Now if I can just get the tap-tap-tap fixed!!
I think that's the best choice. If you can't see it, better not to mess with it. You'll forget about it eventually.
Don't feel bad about the tech. We've gotten too lenient with incompetence. Hopefully they'll get someone in there that knows his a$$ from a hole in the ground.

You probably saved someone else an issue with this guy and possibly one dealing with overall vehicle safety. Now if he burns the fries they can always just make a new batch.
I think you took the right approach and the dealership did resolve. To bad the tech lost his job over the incident, but perhaps that is only because this was not his first screw-up.

If it was a lazy or careless mistake then he should be fired. If on the other hand he was given an assignement he wasn't trained how to do, that's not his fault. I can't recall in the original post if this guy was supposed to be their Corvette "technician". Like someone else said, perhaps this tech has a poor track record, was on think ice and should have been fired before now. Enjoy the free oil changes!
