I'm not too familiar with aftermarket gps systems, but a few names come to mind which i've heard, however, is there one that any1 recommends? Its not actually for me, its for my sister, and she's looking for a sub $300 one. I dont know what that gets you on the market, but i've seen some for 500 which are supposed to be pretty decent? anyway, if any1 had any advice or recommend one, that'd be great. Thanks for the help.
P.S. - she'll mainly be using it around the LA region (which she is new to), if that has any effect on the choice.
Garmin Nuvi 350 is pretty damn good. They have newer and fancier models out but this one does the job for me and is small and fits in your shirt pocket along with a host of other features........ MP3's, language translations, curency exchange, electronic books, etc
I bought a brand new Garmin C330 on eBAY for $270. Nice little unit. You can also find them at Walmart for $329
We bought my wife a Garmin C330 and she loves it. She travels all over Phx, Tucson and Dallas in her job. It has never let her down. We too bought it on ebay for less than $300.
I put laptops in all of my vans. Did this so everybody has M$ Streets and Trips. Can store and display 30 to 100 sites on single page! Can service WHOLE city, once loaded.
