I'v had my vert 10 day's but have been in it about 2hrs. Weather you know. Saw this black box attached to windshield on right side of mirror.

It is the antenna module for OnStar. The actual electronics for OnStar are below the passenger side rear storage cubby.
It is your diversty antenna, all rolled in to one xm,am,fm,on star.
No that is not correct. The AM and FM antennas are behind the rear fascia. The XM antenna is in the outside rearview mirrors (2006 +, a "wart" on 2005).

Zymurgy means that the XM antenna is in the outside mirror.
We are both have right,one thing for shure dont monkey with it.
