Glass top vs. solid top
Just curious. Does anyone know the weight difference between both tops? Thanks...

Approximately 3/4 lb. The tinted top weighs approx. 20.2 lbs, the painted top weighs 20.9 lbs, and the new SMC top weighs approx. 24 lbs.

Sheet molded compound. It's the newer tops supposedly being used in the 07 C6 coupes.

Weight of tops
I think your off on those weights...I thought they were like 7 or 8 lbs...they are super light and can be handled by 1 person...

No, those weights were supplied by a very knowing person who weighed them. Also, I've removed my top several times and I can tell you for sure it's in the low 20s.
Have you ever picked up a top?

I all I can tell you is my clear top feels so much lighter than my solid (SMC) top. So much easier to handle....

Nope, he's right. All tops weigh over 20 pounds.

My mistake
Yeah I picked up the tops...I have both...its just that they are so light and easy to handle i don't think they feel like 20 lbs...
But i haven't weighed them myself so I'm probably wrong.
