any pictures of the garage? not sure what kind of cover that is - if you can get a water-noodle (see picture) and somehow run it along side of the car it will save just about any kind of door hitting it....
Excellent idea but hang them horizontally between the 2 cars around knee level. It will move with the car door and prevent rash on either car.
I pick up my new C6 Friday. It will be sharing a two car garage with my wife's Honda CRV. I've already talked to her and my daughter about being careful, and bought a Dustop cover that is supposed to help with dings and scratches. Anyone have any other advice or tricks to share?

You don't say what color your car is, but use caution covering "dirty" car, especially if it is black. When you put the cover on and slide it off, it can very easily scratch.

Since the other half of my garage is for a workshop, this may not work for you. I replaced all the bedroom doors in my house and kept a couple of them to put end-to-end to make a wall between the 2 bays. Nothing can accidently roll into the car. The front door is screwed to the garage door track and the back one is mounted to a cabinet with a second cabinet in the middle where the 2 doors meet.
I used something similar to the water noodle. Black PVC pipe insulation slipped over a piece of PCV pipe that is screwed to the wall protects my door when opening.
You might be able to suspend a piece of 10' PVC horizontally along your car with the insulation over it.

OH! NOW you tell me! I had to use the car all last week for work & left it outside since I was working on my truck in the garage. I put the cover on each night and went to wash over the weekend and found those dirt scratches. Nothing to get worked up about but yeah, not a good idea to cover a dirty car.
1. No kids get in or out of car while in garage.
2. No bicycles allowed in or near garage ever. That's ever.
3. Get three or four cheap plastic saw horses and place between cars if you have the room. If garage less than 24 ft. wide do not use.
After this, my problems (as relates to kids and cars and wives and parking in garage) were solved.

My wife is very much like yours. I've told her several times to be careful. But she does it anyway. Say's it was a accidental. GRRRR!
So here's what I did. A simple fix. Go to Pep Boys and buy these clear plastic door guards. They slip on her car door, and you adjust them up or down right at the point of impact. On your CRV, it would be on the lower part of the door. I'd show you a picture but I'm at work. Hope that helps.
This thread has given me some good ideas - although if I follow through on some I will have to sell the C6 to pay a divorce lawyer. I like the furniture pad and styrofoam ideas. Crabby,do you just lean the stryrofoam against the car or do you secure it in some way?
Yes, I just lean it and I put a couple of short strips of the stick on Velcro on the styro and matched on the car cover. Keeps it from falling or blowing over if there is a windy day with the garage door open. (put the soft side of the Velcro on the styro, so if you lean it without the car cover due to dirt or dust it won't scratch like the bristle side)
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
