Bold threads have not been accessed, or the original poster has replied since you posted are accessed the thread. This means it contains new information from the original poster. Threads that are large text but not bold contain information that you have not seen yet but nothing new from the original poster. Threads that are dim smaller text you have all ready visited and there is nothing new from the last time you were online. You will also notice the small icon to the right of the text. The bold or large text have open envelopes with a paper in them, the muted text has a closed envelope.
