Is it safe and ok, Just to plug nail holes in these runcraps, As I have a nail in the left front and the right rear tires, The cost here to patch these. $69.99 each tire plus taxes, You can buy new tires installed at that price for some cars, Anyway thinking about just using a plug kit to repair them, As I only have 3000 miles on the vette, And with the soft compound these tires have, I figure I will be picking up a lot more f---ing nails, And its going to be a pain and lots of $ to keep patching these tires, Plus they will only patch each tire a few times, So what would I repair them with then.

I would take the car to a GY certified runflat repair shop and let them do the repair. The tire I believe does come with a road hazard warranty from GY so I think you'd be covered by a nail puncture. I wouldn't use just a plug. Good luck.

For the first 12 months, or 2/32 tire wear, Goodyear will properly repair the tire for free under the road hazard warranty that comes with the tires. Proper repair consists of a mushroom plug and patch done from the inside of the tire. Such a repair will maintain the speed rating of the tire. An ordinary tire plug inserted from the outside is not considered a proper repair of these tires, and will void the speed rating. You can do it, but you shouldn't drive the car over 120 MPH if you do. If you are involved in an accident because of an improper repair, your insurance company may decline your claim.

There, better explanation than mine. I'd listen to shopdog.

I did take it to a GY certified repair shop. No warranty.

The car is 2 years old, No warranty, Even with hardly any wear on the tires, Maybe I will just use a plug as I do not see myself driving at 120 MPH, The car really is only 9 months old, But that another story.
THANKS

Shop around a little bit more. I would have the tire repaired the right way if I were you. It sounds like the tires have a lot of mileage left in them, might as well have them fixed the right way.
Some places do repairs for free, Discount Tire for example, while others will do repairs for around $10. Shop around and have it done correctly with a plug and a patch on the inside.
I had 3/32" of wear, was hoping they'd let me slide... NOPE. Had to pay for the repair... was around $50 if I remember correctly. Tire had to come off rim of course (which is a challenge with these runflats), re-installed, then balanced, etc... it's indeed a bit of work, $50 or so is not unreasonable when you think about it. I certainly would not do all that for less.
If the car NEVER sees high speeds or long highway trips (if it's just a weekend show car only), I guess you could take a chance and just plug the tire from the outside. But having a blowout at high speed is not worth trying to save the cost of a proper repair.
I've had a plug in my tire for 7 months and about 6000 miles, no issues. As long as it is not on the sidewall
24,000 miles, due to be replaced! but still, Patch it myself and go, but thats just me, im sure others will put me down(as if that hasnt happened b4)if your gonna hafta pay for it, just replace it!
The right thing to do is to patch because the plug weakens the belts. That said I have 2 plugs on my 05, left rear & right rear. The left was done @ 6K miles. Now at 26K and no issues. Have had Stonewall up to 135 with out problems.
I had a nail in my 06 c6 dirivers rear tire on the first water grove that goes completely around the tire from end to end. There was only 300 miles on it and I could not get the local GY distributor for the whole area or the GM Chev dealer to repair it. It seems that they were concerned about the liability on the repair and this was a high performace street legal race car. Therefore, it cost me slightly over $400 for a new tire. Boy, what a bummer, I finished up the vacation by running with a group of Vettes up Hwy 7 in Arkansas for some spirited drivings, we were moving out. Overall, it was a good idea to get rid of that tire since I wasn't pussycatting around.
