Well, as with every car I have owned, it is time to pass the torch to a new owner who wants my car more than I do! I just rolled 61,000 miles in 18 months with no real problems. The Vette was a daily commuter, the 61,000 miles came with four (4) oil changes, two sets of tires, one cockpit air filter, one set of K&N engine air filters, one painted roof replacement and 61,000 miles of driving pleasure. This was only my second GM product. I sold an 03 Cobra to buy an 04 XLR, but GM ended up buying back the XLR due to repeated retractible hardtop issues. They offered the Corvette on GMS as a replacement and to keep me as a GM customer. The Vette was a great car, worth every cent but it is time to try something different. Thanks to those who helped me with the few issues I had. I will continue to lurk, as I still do on the Lightning, Bullitt, Cobra, XLR and Allante boards. Good luck to all.
...I just rolled 61,000 miles in 18 months with no real problems...
NICE!!!
61k in 18 months... now THAT'S how a C6 should be used! I wish I had the physical time to drive mine that much.
And no problems... glad to hear it. Great to see these types of posts here to help counter balance the occasional GM bashing posts from those who have had a few problems. All makes and models of cars have their share of problems.
My C6 with 12k miles has been perfect... most solid and reliable car I've ever had... so far... at the rate it's going it'll be just as good with 61k too.
Best of luck with your new ventures. Let us know what you get and how it compares.

Do you have any idea as to what you may get?? Good luck with your choice.
Good luck in the future. Can't say I put as many miles as that but my last car I did 52k in 24 months, just driving from Dallas to Fort Worth. I try to take it a little easier on this car but it's so fun to drive I have a hard time putting down the fob.
I hate to see a member leave, but I am glad you received alot of driving pleasure in those 18 months Thanks for sharing the vette experience with us I wish you well on your new exciting vehicle
Someone will buy this car who will appreciate a good price on a late model car due to the high milage. This is likely highway miles, which is the best thing for a car. That is why you hear stories of salesmen getting 200K+ miles on their cars. It is the city driving and number of start ups that cause the most wear and tear. I believe the % oil use calculater considers this, and if it is mostly highway miles an oil change at 15,000 miles should not be a problem.
OK, sorry, but I have to ask..............
Who would buy a car that had 61,000 miles put on it in 18 months!?!?!!? Especially a Corvette.
My first thought would be.."Man, he must have beat the s**t out of that thing"
Thoughts?
P.S. Best of luck with your next choice.

The way you put that many miles on a car in a short period of time is with highway miles. Highway miles are not the best way to beat the whatever out of a car unless you are driving through sand storms in west texas. IMO the cars to watch out for are the ones with very low miles but telltale signs of having put those miles on 1/4 mile at a time. Things like brand new tires at 4000 miles or less, wear on clutch pedal, smoke from exhaust, body repairs, performance MODS, evidence of recently removed performance mods, etc etc......some low miles cars have been well cared for and are good risks. Others, IME, ( that's in my experience ) are very bad risks and rolling junk. I'd say this C6 is just well broken in and ready for the next 60k miles or more.
I have 10,080 miles in 11 (eleven) weeks of owning 06 vert. Get in and drive. Cruise is NUMBER ONE option on all cars, trucks, and vans that I own as expressways are my life, also.
I will have to purposely slow that pace down a bit so that I own car three years and end up with 60k.
No one would ever have a problem buying a high miler from me. Do ALL service at dealer at proper levels and take pretty good care besides. Last car was Lightning, NO MODS. This vert will have NO MODS. So, what IS better???? A NO MOD well cared for high miler or?????
