Have any of you run into the problem of the door buzzer going off when working on the car with the accessory power on (to run the radio) and the drivers door open?
When I am washing or detailing the car I like to have the radio on but do not like the buzzer going off when the drivers door is open. The solution is to manually click the door latch closed (the latch actually on the driver door) and the car thinks the door is closed and the buzzer stops. You will have to open the latch before you try to close the door and this is easily done by pushing the door open button on the door panel.

Nice idea, I usually just open the windows and leave the door closed but this is a nice option if the door needs to be open.
On manual cars you can hit the start button without engaging the clutch and it will not beep when the doors are open. I am assuming you can do the same with an automatic if you don't step on the brake when hitting the start button. Remember don't hit the accessory power, hit the actual start button.
This problem bugged me for a year. Finally figured it out one day.
When I was at BG looking at my Vette being assembled one of the Q control guys told about this little trick BUT don't forget what you have done since you can jamb the latch if you shut door without returning to normal position.

I have verified that if you hit the start button without engaging the clutch you can have the doors open without the beeping. Can anyone confirm this is also possible with and auto?
