I heard on this forum that vettes were being sold by dealers for 39K I find that hard to believe-I just went by my local dealer and they STILL have $5K Mark -ups on their inventory of C6s and $30K on their ZO6s!! I have an 07 I was just curious.

I'm in DFW area. Went to dealer the other day and priced out a new 07 coupe, LMB, 2LT, Z51, 6MT with chrome wheels, and MSRP was 49K. I work for a supplier for GM, so we get a special deal, which is like 1% over invoice, so price came out to ~$44,900. This is supposed to be a non-negotiable price, but I too had heard of other cars that were going for below invoice, so I tried anyway. I told them I would buy it right there if they went down to $41,500, which they would not do. I'm thinking that they wouldn't go down anymore because they would have had to order the car. I'm willing to bet if I picked something they had on the lot they would have moved more.
Regardless, I found a better deal on a used 07. I should be picking it up on Thursday. I am SUPER excited!
My friend up in New York just showed me a dealer ad for an '07 for UNDER invoice. Now, maybe there're fees up the wazoo and who knows what else, but the advertised price is under the invoice numbers that I have for that equipped car (roadster, 3LT, chrome.).
There is a Bill Heard dealership here that sticks a $10k premium over sticker and then adds on $1,995 for paint and fabric protection as well. Yep, they really do list a base for $57,990.
I heard this sales pitch that you can save thousands just the other day, but they were still pushing for well over sticker. It's pretty sickening but they do seem to be moving inventory at a reasonable pace.

Since you don't have your profile filled out where exactly is "here"??
Dealer here in SJ always has a 1lt 6 speed in the weekend papers for $39,XXX. The latest one was in Machine Silver. Prices will go down on 07's even more once the 08 HP is announced.

Yeah The dealership here does the same bullsh*t "paint protection" add-on their sticker for $1,495 on top of the 5K Mark-up! they sell between 55-60K! depending on other options
I ordered my 07 in July 06 Got it delivered in August 06 and paid $45K Out the door -its a 1 LT w/ MN6 in Velocity Yellow (I wanted to race it so didn't get all the Bells & Whistles I wouldn't need or use) IMO I think i got a good deal at that time.
Has anybody actually gotten one for that price? Or is that just to lure them in and do the "bait & switch" routine?
Lot's of people have gotten them from Kerbeck with the advertised special. You just have to remember that price is on a specific car with specific options. In this case it is a 1lt base 6 spd. It wouldn't interest me but if that's what you are after, give Kerbeck a call. The MSRP on that car is listed at $44,995. I don't know how it compares to the car that your dealer has on his lot. You will never find a markup on an instock or ordered car from a forum dealer. Two different forum dealers were advertising Z06's below MSRP just two weeks ago.

Ordered from Dave and Amy at Kerbeck on March 01, 2007. Paid $18.00 under GM supplier price + $139 for paperwork ( they are getting FL plates for me because I'm located in NY now). They are for real and good people to deal with.
