Default Memory seat problem.

Hi, I posted this a while back and did not get many response. Did not find anything using search so I am asking again.

Does anyone know how to fix the intermitting problem of the seat memory. My seat will work sometimes but would not work other times. The dealer can not help unless it happens all the time.

Here is the problem, when I get into my car, the steering wheel will come up into position, the seat will lower into position but will not go forward into the memory position. If I push the forward button for a second and then push the position 1 button then sometimes the seat will go forward to the proper position, sometimes it would not so I would have to set it again.

I would appreciate hearing back from people that had this problem and how they fixed it. It is happening more and more often however never happens at the dealership so they can not see it therefore can not fix it. thanks

If your easy exit is all the way back bring in back in about an inch and set it. This sould help solve that problem. I had the same problem and that has worked just fine. I work for a GM dealer and this is the fix for that problem. The easy exit is set to far back and puts the seat in a bind.

You may be doing the same thing I was, which is pressing the memory recall button too hard sometimes and not paying attention to the double beep which indicates a newly stored position.

This happened to me often because I tend to lower the passenger mirror to see the lower right side and avoid curbing the rims.

for what it is worth I have the same problem I'll try big dogs solution because I hate taking the car to the dealer. I posted sometime ago about this and quite a few people reported the same thing as an intermittant problem which rules out your resetting of the position btw. I also get a doulbe beep when it happens and I exit the car. It is probably a bad module or sensor which some people claimed. here is the url from my post http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1631618

Hmm, sounds like a good idea. I will try that too. Thank you.

I have the same problem even though I had my seat memory module replaced last year under warranty. My "exit" position is currently set to all the way back. I'll try THEBIGDOG56's suggestion and report the results here.
