Default Delivery Report

Well we are back from BG. Let me say that was an awesome experience and hope that everyone gets a chance to do what we just got done doing. We arrived at the museum and Bruce was waiting to take us on the tour. At first I wasn't sure I was going to see the car before going to the factory but he took us over there and it was surreal. I just wanted to sit there with her for an hour or two but we decided to head over to the factory and see the show.
We got the safety briefing and entered the factory. The first thing you see is where they work on the front and rear facia's (sp?) There were several rear pieces on racks waiting for some TLC and I noticed a lighter color blue one sitting below a LeMans Blue pointed to the guide and asked "hey is that the new blue color for 2008?" He looked at me kind of smiled and said that he can't point to things like I can BUT I might be correct. It looks a lot like the Nassau Blue but it might be a shade darker. Of course it isn't all that bright in there anyways so it could be identical.
He took us by the engines and getting ready for install and when we walked by a certain clear area he turned around slowly and tried to peak into a small corner of the plant. And didn't say anything cuz I asked him earlier if the new 650 HP Vette is anywhere in the factory. He said it might be. So I got the hint. I couldn't really see it but got a small glimpse of it. It did not have ZO6 wheels on it. That is all I noticed.
We got to the end of the tour and I got to start a silver convertible, and recived the birth certificate. It was neat to see "0" on the odometer. After that he pulled me aside and waited for this Ron Fellows to get closer and asked the guy driving it if he minded if I sat in the car while he took it through the brake dyno. He said no and I got to see a Fellows ZO6 from the inside on the dyno. What a machine. Ran it up to 70mph and it sounded awesome. They do like 800 tests on that dyno in a minute or two. Pretty Cool.
Got back to the museum and Bruce took me from front to rear discussing every switch, ****, and button. We got lots of pics and drove home on the interstate back to Louisville. I asked the guy about the 500 mile break in period and he said he spoke to the engineers and said that on the C6 it isn't really necessary but speed should be varied, don't use cruise control, and don't downshift when you brake. I kept it near 55 anyways on the highway playing with the gadgets anyways.

Great time. Will do the delivery again.

There is no better way to purchase a new Corvette then with Museum delivery. I'm glad your car was to your liking and the experience was a good one. I wish everyone could do it. Enjoy the ride and here's to many miles of smiles.
