Talked to Lori at the Museum today to arrange my delivery. Very nice girl; she seemed almost as excited about it as I am. She told me my car is scheduled to roll off the line next Wed, April 11. After the 2-week quality hold I could have it as soon as April 25, but my schedule is full that week, so I set it up for May 2 at 7:45 AM. She even had the VIN for me. I talked to her about the transport situation, and she told me about the Enterprise deal but whatever rental car company I had, they would help me return the rental car to the local BG office. Pretty Also got the number for the local Hampton Inn, and she said they offer a discount to folks there for museum delivery. Now all I have to do is wait.
I talked to her too just yesterday. My dilemma was this - and it sort of sounds like a Seinfeld bit - so I send a whole bunch of money to these people in NJ and they give me these papers which I use to pick up a car in Kentucky? Hmmm... I just want to make sure this all works out.
She informed me that this option is meant to be a Lifetime Experience, not to worry, submit my deposit and order a car and get a number, then just deal with her. Call her anytime. It was very nice to hear that. No offense to anyone, but trusting car dealers is an acquired taste for many of us.
It also didn't hurt when I asked how many customers the dealer I ordered from sent her way and they all went smooth.
Too bad you couldn't do it on the 25th. Then you could have stayed for the C5/C6 bash 25 - 28 April
Actually I could have worked it in with some business travel for Friday the 27th, but they don't do deliveries during the bash. But that's OK; probably would have a hard time finding a hotel room that weekend anyway. Besides, seeing the 08 models on display might make me wish I had waited.
You'll enjoy the Museum delivery experience a lot....
If you rent from Enterprise in Nashville, all you need to do is drop your keys at the front desk at the Museum and they take care of the rental car for you. It couldn't be any easier.
