Well I kind of floored it when I left the dealer on Thursday. I was thinking that maybe I had messed something up. I haven't tried it in "S" mode. I'll try it tomorrow and see how it feels.

Yes, if you've got it in "S" mode and if you start out relatively mildly, it will shift into 2nd gear at about 8-9 mph.Also note that the owner's manual is not very clear about this, but in "S" gear, if you never use the paddles, it will downshift all the way to 1st gear when you stop. However, once you use the paddles, the tranny will downshift for you, but never lower than 2nd gear, and it will NOT upshift for you at all.
