I know that advertising is a true cost of invoice. Is PDI also a seperate line item of invoice?? Dealer is showing me a computer screen of invoice and there is a charge for PDI. Is this truly an invoice item or is it a dealer add on?
Thanks

Dealer addon as far as I know, but I'm not a dealer. Delivery charge is mandatory and some zones have mass marketing charges, but I don't recall seeing PDI on an invoice.

If PDI stand for pre-delivery inspection it's an added charge. The dealer is paid as a warranty charge by GM for getting the car ready for delivery. I had my service record pulled by my Vin # and the first warranty service was the pre-delivery inspection and preparation.
every dealer every where HAS TO DO a pdi.If they didn't,your car would not be prepped, checked out, inspected etc, before you took it home. Now,most dealers absorb the cost either in house or just knock it off the sales guys commission amount, either way, somebody pays.Amounts vary. Not an invoice item.usual prices are around 100-150 bucks.
