Does anyone know how to reattach something that has this 3M tape . I have a problem with the chrome CORVETTE letters on dash and on rear of car. YES I cleaned the area with Alcohol. Yes I used the furnished activator. NO I did not touch the tape before the mounting. The suppliers were not helpful. Also have problem un solved by Wood Dash Experts. They claim if the majority is sticking the fault is mine. I just hope someone knows how to reactivate the stick. ANYONE out there?? PATRICK????
Once the tape is rejected (stuck and failed) it's garbage. Only crazy glue would save it and I would not recommend it. The vendor should replace it, if you must fix it remove the tape on back of the "V" and pepboys sells the 3M emblem tape. You will have to stick in the "V" can cut (using a hobby knife) the remaining tape prior to applying
THANKS PIPEDREAMS...I was thinking the same way. I have some of the VHB tape used to install the C06 rear mud guards left over. I was hoping someone knew how to reactivate the tape already on the items. However that doesn't seem likely. THANKS to all who responded to my plea for HELP.

the VHB is about 2x as thick as the 3M emblem tape, I would get the 3M emblem tape is paper thin and has a red backing

Ever try warming it with a hair dryer? Warming it allows easy removal of things with adhesive on them but it may also reactivate the adhesive. Once it is warm, hold the portion that didn't stick well in place until it cools.
I have not tried it but if I were in a similar situation at this point I would be willing to try anything.
Tried it PAPPY... Hair dryer really works to remove any but I have not had any luck with it making it sticky again. DAMN I did not figure on the VHB being thicker. PIPEDREAMS... i'm looking at the VHB I think it might work, its really not noticeable thicker, I didn't measure it but I'll try both and get the 3M @ Pep boys are wherever I can find it. A lot of good info BROTHER'S I really hate this 2 faced tape, what ever happened to good old CONTACT GLUE, my 3rd level of try outs if nothing else works. I use GORILLA GLUE for every thing else, it works also.
I don't know where you live, but the temp of the surface( bumper/ dash) should be warm... A cold surface will make the tape harder to stick... Ordered a second set for my rear bumper because the day I put it on it was 70 degrees, the next day the temp dropped 30 degrees and I notice a letter pealing away from the car...
