I have an 05 that I think shifts just fine. Like others have said, this is a strong transmission and you shouldn't expect it to shift like one of the small flimsy foreign car transmissions. It shifts so much better than my C5 did that it feels like it shifts slick to me. No complaints.
i had a 6 spd 2000 and it was a much better shifting car
my 06 z51 is tough at low end, but, you drive like a fast car and it works very nicely
however, i dont like to drive hard all the time
i think ,again, the engineers have tried to outthink the average driver,
otherwise, all these changes each year would not be necessary
I have a 2005 M6 (10,500 miles) - I think the trans has a nice feel. True it is a bit heavy/notchy - but I'm not sure that is a bad thing, nice positive shift. True, it is not like my old Honda Civic (very light and easy to shift), but it's also not like my '65 Intl Scout (almost took two hands to shift). I am considering putting in Royal Purple just to see if that makes it even better. Cheers - Jim
Mine was very stiff especially driving to Denver from the NCM Delivery, but that was about 95% interstate driving the first 1200 miles.
After a few weeks of doing 90% city driving it totally changed, and is much better, but it still isn't like other manuals I've driven, But then, neither is the car!!
