Default OnStar diagnostics report

had e-mailed them to comeplain that I was not receiving. no answer
then today took vette for a ride first time out of garage this year.
received a report about 1 hour later. Is it because it was in garage ???
normal garage out of wood. and it did show tire pressure low.

Sattelite can't see your cars gps when in a garage. When I first got mine I was in garage playing around with Onstar.Long story short tech could not diagnose why he could not see my location until he politely asked me if I was in a garage.I pulled out problem solved.

Car has to be on to send report. It is because this is the first time you drove the car this year.

OnStar shuts down after 72 hours last ignition cycle. This prevents the VCIM from draining the battery.

Mine did the same thing last night when I signed up for the report. Car was in the garage so it couldn't see it. I went to the gym this morning and when I get home there was an email with the report.

you should get a report from onstar every month; showing mileage, fluid levels, air pressure,% of life left on oil,and tell you they or ok or not. as long as you still have a contract with time still left. they need your e-mail address. i'm not sure when i got my first one---miles ?you can check with onstar, you will need your contract or account number. I am with you on the snow....but at least they use sand up there....here they use SALT and tons of it. I can't stand the thought of all the salt going into our water supply....It actually piles up on side of the roads. We had 3 inches Easter (snow, not salt)LOL

I have not received a report from OnStar and mine has been out and about for a couple of days. Yes, I did sign up for the report.

Simply OnStar, they talk a good a program but do not deliver.

Mine showed high air pressure. I thought it was because the C6 stays in the garage and maybe the reading was obtained after the tires had heated up.

You have me wondering now. I can never get any of my four tire gagues to match up with what the DIC says my tire pressure is anyway. I wonder how accurate those air pressure sensors are anyway?

OnStar is not a satellite service. It uses Verizon's regular terrestrial cellphone network to communicate with the car. It does use GPS to locate the car, but that doesn't matter for the diagnostic services they offer.

I used to receive these monthly reports but now that I no longer have OnStar they use my email address on file to send me spam pestering me to reactivate OnStar. No link in their emails to unsubscribe either, in order to stop receiving email from them you have to write to OnStar Customer Service.
