Default I need help with trunk/hatch problem...

The trunk lid does not "suck" down as shown on the DVD we received on delivery of our "baby" (07C6Z51) 2 months ago. We have to push it down to get it to latch. If will work as it's supposed to if you have the roof off or have a door or window open. Anyone else have problems like this and / or a remedy other than a trip back to the dealer ?

It sounds like it's either out of adjustment or something is wrong with the motor. (If it's weak it would explain the roof off functionality.)

I'd take it to a trusted dealer asap and get them to look at it.

I know this isn't much help, but hopefully someone who knows more than I will stop by soon.

This is normal. If the windows are closed / roof is on and you just allow the hatch to drop, often it will not engage the "suck down" latch... you need to then gently press down on the hatch.

My method of closing the hatch... gently lower the hatch all the way down until it's just touching the latch... then give it a little push to get it to "suck down".

If my windows are open it WILL work as shown in the DVD, but not with the car closed up. It's not a problem.

Typically, especially on a new car, the hatch has to be pulled down with some force in order for it to close properly. The electric pull down will only engage at the very last inch or so. As the weatherstripping wears in, this becomes much easier.

Try closing the hatch gently with the windows open a bit, and see if it doesn't pull down just before it's fully closed. If nothing happens, at any point, you may have a problem. If you can see it engage at all, you're fine.
