I have a 2007 coupe and I previously owned a 1998 coupe. I notice that when accelerating from a stop that there is a lag in my car starting to accelerate. I never noticed this on my 1998. Also if I am going very slow and engage the accelerator I notice the car slightly jerks into gear (not sure if this is normal). It is an Automatic

Sounds like it's the way my A4 was before I got a tune.
I'm assuming auto (info not in profile , pet peeve) there may or may not be some form of torque management on the Auto trans, have a competent tuner work on the car and the days of slow response will be gone. I had my A4 05 Vert done by Chuck at COW (Corvettes of Westchester http://www.corvettes-of-westchester.com/main.htm) now I can spin the tires with no effort from a dead stop and on the 1-2 upshift as well as the 2-3 at times. The shift engagement can also be modified to a softer setting if thats your preference.
