Weld Evo Bc9

Fit and finish and workmanship are fine. But I would still try to get some feedback on the automotive wheels, or try to see some in a store.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Greg Weld lost the company to American Racing last year. I do not know the quality of the products they are producing now.
I had a set of Axis on my 2002 Corvette, with some extremely low profile tires supplied by Weld Wheels. It was a nightmare solving the traction control problem. No matter where you buy wheels and tires make certain they guarantee that the traction control system will work. Weld Wheels took back the two months old low profiles and Tire Rack sold me a set of Pirelli P 0 tires in the size they recommended so the traction control would work. After that problem was solved I encountered plating problems that Weld fixed under warranty. When I traded the 2002 on my 2007 in August 2006 the chrome was flaking off again.
I own a 2004 Lexus RX330 SUV with a set of Andro 18 x 8.5. They are one year old this month and the chrome is flaking off. I haven't taken the time to contact American Racing, so I don't know how the warranty will be handled. Worse comes to worse I will put the OEM wheels and tires back on when I get ready to trade in the Lexus.
I understand that Greg Weld is back in business and will soon be selling wheels under the name Original Greg Weld Designs, but produced by Alcoa or someone big like that.
Warranty and dealer are critical. Be careful and wary.

I am in the KC metro area so wanted Weld Wheels for the ease of installation and warranty. Their situation has changed since last year. American Racing no longer sells from the factory location.
What happens if the factory, wherever that is, no longer makes your size and style of wheel and you have a warranty claim?
I have had six Corvettes since 1993. They are my daily driver. There have been a couple of occassions when I had to park the car waiting for a replacement tire or wheel. Do you have a back up plan?
When I traded the 2002 I gave the dealer the Weld wheels and Pirelli tires and the 1/2 worn OEM wheels and OEM tires. During the trade processI do not believe I got $0.15 for my Weld Wheels and P 0 tires. You should assume aftermarket wheels and tires are for your pleasure, not financial gain.
By the way, I have had my 2007 since August 2006. I have the standard silver painted five spoke wheels and I don't think I am going to buy aftermarket wheels. I guess that phase is over for me for right now.

THANK YOU
I have a set on my 2004 RX330.
1. Weld Wheels went bankrupt in fall 2006 and is now owned by American Racing.
2. The chromed Corvette wheels looked fine when I traded the car in August 2006.
3. The chromed Lexus wheels started peeling after less than one year.
4. I haven't bothered trying to get any warranty because I didn't pay for the wheels. (too long of a story)
5. The warranty is only as strong as the company that made them or the retailer that sells them to you.
6. If I ever buy retail again I will not buy chromed and I will make sure I am buying from a name brand retailer that will substitute any other brand if the original brand goes broke.
7. BTW, be careful about altering size too much. The traction control system is very touchy. I got my best advice from Tire Rack concerning wheel and tire size to prevent problems. The first set of very low profile tires were a real headache on the 2002.
good luck
