I looked at replacing my stock Nav system today. Went over what I wanted with the salesman and asked him to put together an estimate. When all was said and done he handed me an estimate of $9500! I told him I'd have to sleep on it and kindly left the premises.

How much did you spend on stereo upgrades and what di you get?

I replaced my stock unit with the Pioneer Z1. I replaced all speakers with kicker in the doors, behind the seats, and two 8' subs, in the back. I also added a kicker 5 channel amp...sounds When you replace the stock radio with an aftermarket, you should also replace the the "Blose System". Mine cost me $5200.00. but...well worth it! I got dvd, navigation, bluetooth and my ipod.

 

for $9500 you could pick up a used C3 or C4

 

2500 for top of lien eclipse nav/ dvd player. 500.00 in jl audio speakers and 400 on jl 250/1 amp and 8w7 sub. so 3500.00 and some change and the 8w7 rocks!!!!

A hell of a lot less than that! Look at the Pioneer head units; good and reasonable. A couple JL amps (a 4 channel for the speakers and mono for the subs), and a couple of speakers should cost a total of 4k max with a good installation.

 

Whatever the 24 blank CDs that I burned from my computer cost.

 

I spent about $200 on speakers, $149 for a 4 ch amp, and about $15 for wire and connectors.

How do you like the Pioneer? I think they have the best screen of all the nav's I've looked at. The DVD is very easy to overide I'm told.

 

My valley is still happy.
