If you have an 07 built between 2-8-07
thru 3-15-07 the problem is in the DIC,
and it is on back order.
[[Test[: enter car and start WITHOUT
fastening seat belt, if you hear a "pop" in your
speakers your DIC needs to be replaced. If
you fasten your seat belt and then start car
and do not hear the pop you still need to have
the DIC replaced. They are on National Backorder
and affect about 1200 07 Vettes. This info is
on the A6. I do not know if it pertains to the M6.
Although some say this is 'normal', as a recording engineer I can tell you that eventually, and in a big way, any power up noise, whether its due to the amplifier kicking in, or something to do with the seatbelt, will ultimately damage the speakers. In the studio, we protect against this with a "soft" power up... it takes about 10 seconds before we reach 110V.
Yup, I've got it too. It didn't sound like a "pop" to me, and I just thought it was some sort of start up tone, but it's exactly the same as in the video clip.
I'd also like to know if there is a TSB on this. I'm bringing in my car (made in 02/07) for an alignment this week and would like to be able to ask them about this.
Anyone else have this problem?
If so, did you get it corrected and what
was the fix? I have it and it is not a
good thing to have that kind of electrical
surge or spike.

How will I possibly know when the (excuse for) speakers in my c6 are damaged?
I replied to this a few weeks ago as I was having that sound as well. I took my car in about 2 weeks ago to get an alignment and a couple of other cosmetic things fixed under warranty. One of those on the list was the little Bose logo on my passenger speaker was rattling pretty bad, even with the stereo off. I had them fix that. Appearantly there is a clip behind it that can be tightened or something. They also reinsulated the speaker area.
So what's my point? Well, ever since then, I have not heard that sound, even once. Maybe it could have been caused by a loose speaker wire or a ground?
For those that have had the dealer fix this problem... I ask...What was the fix. My cars warranty is up so I assume I would have to pay for the repair. If I dont fix it will it cause a problem with my DIC, amp or speakers?
My car does this pop or thump about every other startup.
