Default Another First Time Corvette Owner

Well, I made some replies in other threads, but thought I'd just share my enjoyment. After seeing the pics of the 08, decided nothing worth waiting for and found an 07 on a local dealer lot I liked. First time buying from them, Thomas Chevrolet in West Chester PA, very nice, easy laid back sales, and was overall very pleased with them. Had a new 07; silver, A6, 3LT, chrome wheels, NAV, transparent roof, with 2-tone interior in titanium, all with just 27 miles on the odometer. And they gave me a pretty good deal on my 05 GTO (although after just 2 years, I took a bath on that really, but oh well).

Picked it up last Saturday, and couldn't be happier. Thanks to this board, I knew what I wanted and kind of already knew my way around the car (although I'm still struggling with all the options and settings, but having fun learning). And these posts are no fun without a few pics, so here are a few quick ones from this past weekend (hopefully these come out and aren't too big).

Tucked away in its new home with my dog standing guard.

Default Great Looking Car

I'm really starting to like silver on the C6. Saw another one a couple of weeks ago with the body-color top. Very nice color. Might make me have to rethink LMB for my next one.

Beautiful car.

BTW, if that's a "guard dog", you may want to think about a set of wheel locks. One tennis ball out the garage door and there goes - literally - your security system.

Actually, he's afraid of his own shadow, but he's still my buddy!!

Silver can be subdued to some, it doesn't scream at you, but I think it looks very sharp and classy. And it will always look clean and almost never show any scratches. The chrome wheels help with silver, gives it that extra little pop that I think it needs. And the 2 tone titanium interior is really sharp with silver.

I've had black, blue, and red cars, and just too much up keep anymore for me. Plus, the C6 is such a good looking car, it looks great in any color. But as a daily driver, I wanted something like silver to make it easier to keep and look clean.

Congrats. I actually grew up in West Chester not far from Exton. Lived there for 13 years. Nice part of the country.

Wow, you were in the exact situation i'm in right now... GTO owner stepping up to the Vette

I'm just waiting on getting info on the 08', but i'm really close to taking the plunge and trading in my 05' GTO. If you don't mind me asking, how much did they give you for it?

$17500 (but did save me $1200 on PA sales tax by trading in). Actually, that's $1500 more than Kerbeck offered me for it 6 weeks ago, at roughly the same price for the C6. I probably could have haggled another $500 off the C6 or more for my GTO if I was willing to get up and walk away, but it was 75 degrees last Saturday, the best day we've had in the NE yet, and I wanted to go home that day in a Corvette! Plus, the dealership was really pretty good, very easy going, absolutely no pressure, repeatedly thanked me for buying the car from them, just an overall nice experience (much different than the pressured filled experience I got 6 weeks ago).

The GTO is a great car, but GM killed the market for these with the massive incentives in 04 and even since then; heck there are new 06s being sold for $26-28K.

The Corvette is such a different car than the GTO, and wish I had done this sooner. I haven't been this excited about driving a car in a long time. Even during the break in period, just cruising easily along, its just fun. Love looking over the hood and fender bulges while driving and the interior is way better than people say it is. The HUD is a must, that is worth every penny and is such a cool feature (also, very practical)!
