Engine Start is flaky -sometimes

The problem - Pushing the START with #1 FOB in my pocket the dash "initializes", the radio turns on - everything happens except that the engine doesnt start - nothing happens!. I have to push the green LED "START" several times before it will start.
I've tried putting it in reverse, holding the START button in, locking the doors first, holding my mouth in different contorted poses -

It seems to be getting worse....
Maybe FOB battery? It is a late production '06 MN6 Z51 3LT Vert..
Looked thru the FAQ's and didnt see anything similar...

first try it with the fob out of your pocket then if not better change bat

I had the same thing happen to me twice today. The 1st time I just kept pushing the button and it finally started. The 2nd time it happened, I released the clutch then pushed it to the floor and it started right up. Since then, I've made sure the clutch is to the floor and it has started every time.

Funny timing, mine did it for the first time yesterday. Worked just fine today!

from my experience from working on these things at my dealer is that almost all of them have to have the clutch all the way to the floor.

My 07 does the same thing. Not very often though. Funny thing is the check engine light comes on when it won't start. It's only done this a few times since new.
