Yup, my son has it on his "used" 2005 STS he just bought:

He just picjed it up and we still needed to detail it.

It also has audio/video jacks in the consol for his iPOD, an 8" LCD that plays DVD's when parked, ventilated seats, heated steering wheel and LTPS that the owner can re-train just by releasing 5 to 6 seconds of air not requiring a special $400 tool. Everything I mentioned have GM part numbers on them and have been designed, tested and most likely all the R&D paid for. Oh and if you think Bose can't make a great sounding audio system go listen to the "15" speaker 5.1 surround sound system offered in the STS.

Maybe Caddy won't share their toys with Cheby.

Tom

I'm glad I didn't hold out for an 08 in hopes that was there. That's the only thing from my M3 I miss and wish I had in the C6.

Default 2009 C6 Bluetooth owner's manual correction/suggestion

Well, I'm sure everyone knows phone-only Bluetooth is standard on 2009 and beyond. Submitted the following correction to Chevy today, posting it here FYI:

I would like to report an error in the 2009 Corvette Navigation System Owner’s Manual (rear cover SKU 25971786 A). On page 4-2 the picture in the lower left corner incorrectly shows the steering wheel "push to talk" button which has no effect in the navigation system. Instead this picture should show a drawing of the navigation voice recognition button (see picture that is located on page 1-2 button A) This error caused me great difficulty. Please correct in future manuals.

Not an error, but noteworthy is the interaction of my Bluetooth capable telephone with a hands-free profile (Verizon Samsung Omnia i910):
On page 3-104 it mentions that "The connection process can take up to two minutes after the key is turned to ON/RUN or ACC/ACCESSORY position."

This information would be useful on page 3-96 in the opening paragraph that describes Bluetooth. I have attempted to receive phone calls or attempted to make phone calls within seconds of starting the vehicle and was puzzled why the steering wheel "Push to talk" button would not answer my ringing cell phone, or why every attempt to call out with the steering wheel controls would use Onstar when I was trying to use my cell. Also of note is that when the cell phone battery gets low it load sheds power consuming functions like WIFI and Bluetooth and therefore loses Bluetooth connection or will not connect with the vehicle.
Once again this could lead an owner to misunderstand why the vehicle's system was malfunctioning.

Some type of owner's manual troubleshooting matrix that took the above into account would help owners clear up their own misunderstandings, and help them be more precise if and when they have to call their service department for assistance.

The last 8 characters in my VIN is ....

Thanks for making a fine sports car. I love it.

my pioneer avic nav thingy had a bluetooth light, so when the phone would connect it would light up, and it took up to a minute after ignition. would have been nice if they added a bluetooth indicator or something that would show that your phone is connected.

You are right. The only thing the C6 has is a momentary "Bluetooth" message in the DIC when the phone connects to the car.

Someone asked me a question privately, outside the forum system regarding my recent post documenting my owner's manual correction to Chevy and I thought my attempt to answer their question might be useful to the forum:

"The best way to understand what I am saying (re your first question) is to look at the pictures in the navigation owners manual I refer to. They were telling me to push a button on the steering wheel when they should have been telling me to push a button (a real button not a screen icon) on the side of the navigation panel. Also the phone works independent of whether navigation is on, but the accessory, retained accessory power, or engine have to be running.

When you push the steering wheel button to make a call and follow the owners manual instructions for doing so the car will say over the speakers " calling using Onstar, or calling using "the name" you verbally gave (it records your voice) your cell phone when you went through the owners manual pairing process.

Also the amount of Onstar time you have left on your account will count down in your DIC drivers information screen display during an Onstar call. This countdown does not happen when your phone is handling the call.

When you say you "can't answer the call yet using the steering wheel," you have to specify if you are hearing the phone ring over the speakers or hearing the phone itself ring. If you are hearing the phone itself ring although the phone may be paired with the car it might not be currently connected to the car. This could be because bluetooth on your phone is turned off, you have not allowed at least 2 minutes to elapse after the car is started or 2 minutes after putting the car in accessory mode, (you will see "Bluetooth" momentarily appear in the driver's information screen when it connects after turning on the car--watch for it) or your phone battery is low and has turned off phone bluetooth to conserve battery power.

You can confirm you are connected by pressing the talk button on the steering wheel for two seconds. After the car says "ready," reply by saying "bluetooth," if the car then Replys "bluetooth ready," reply by saying "list." The car will then scan and specify what bluetooth phones are currently connected or will confirm that it is now connecting to your phone.

If the car replies that no bluetooth phones are detected you will have to troubleshoot considering what I have said above.

I had to read my owner's manuals (several and all) about 10 times, watch the DVD about 3 times and use the car about 2 months driving it every day back and forth to work and longer trips on weekends (practicing with all of the features) before I began to have a full understanding of vehicle systems. During this time I kept the targa top on because I couldn't handle any additional distractions that come with having the top down. Now that I understand things better I am enjoying the car top down cause I'm less overwhelmed.

I got the car in May 09 and now have 4k miles.

Hope this helps. Let me know what you discovered after you've tried it again, I'm interested to know the details of what you discover."
