Just got back from a drive. Noticed rear view mirrow map lights on...Can't turn off...I know I didn't turn them on...Any suggestions before the battery go dead...
There's a round button that sticks out by your left knee. It controls the lights. I forget if you need to press it or turn it, but if you fiddle with it I'm sure you'll figure it out. Happened to me too when I brought it home from the dealer.
open and close all doors, push button, if that doesnt work, look where the dash dimmer button is and see if the floor light is on ( push it not turn), it may put map lights on , also check the trunk/ hatch.

I don't know how you knew that, but it worked. Thanks...Must have been the fiddling. Pushing the button causes the floor lights to come, I just kept fiddling with it and the map lights went out....Again, Thanks...

2006 owner's manual, 2nd paragraph, page 3-19.
Courtesy Lamps
When any door or the hatch/trunk lid is opened, the
interior lamps will go on unless it is bright outside. You can also turn the courtesy lamps on and off
by pressing the instrument panel brightness ****.
I don't usually fuss at someone for NOT reading the manual. I just list the page numbers and/or the appropriate text so someone will know where to find it if they need more info.

My hint is a little more subtle.
But really who needs the manual when they can post a question on CF and you'll post the information in a few min?

Well, I'm usually gone to visit my mother on Fri. afternoons & Sun. afternoons. Just so happens that I keep a copy of my 06 manual here at my computer desk and have all 3 C6 manuals on my harddrive.
