While you're pinching pennies, you should also consider you might get better gas mileage with the 93 as well. Not sure about the C6 (I only use 93), but my AWD Jag went from 16mpg to 19mpg city after a few tanks of 93. That comes to roughly a 19% increase in mileage for less than 10% more cost. I've got to get the wife to see if her daily driver acts the same but she's like a lot of people who can't see past the cheap price. Your mileage may vary, literally.

I don't think the jump would be that dramatic with the C6, but operating in the high octane tables definitely improves efficiency. The problem is, lots of guys want to use the extra power, negating any fuel savings.

100%

But if you keep your foot out of it, you should theoretically pick up something. I think I gained more for the AWD because it takes more to get it going and I drive all stop and go.

Look at your manual to see what GM has to say. I know you would love to have $1.50 gas again as I would like to see a 04 cent stamp again. It just isn't going to happen.
