Tire Rack came through on four Firestone RunFlats for Z51. Ordered Mon, delivered Wed, On today. It was interesting watch three grown men wrestle runflats off and on for a couple hours. You definitely need more than a pry bar on those babies. They look good (nice tread). 400 mile trip this weekend to see how they do. It'll also be interesting to see how long they last. Tire Rack cost: about $970. Install, balance & align @ local shop: about $290. Total: $1260. Cheaper than GY's and cheaper than the Firestone store. Tire Rack has my vote. What a car! What a country!
I ordered my new Firestone run-flats yesterday and my Firestone store matched the Tire Rack price for me. With mounting, life-time balance and an alignment I will be paying $1240.
Now my vette will finally run as quiet as the Goodyear blimp!
Pennsylvania & New Jersey roads: lots of bumps and humps. Report: Smoother feel; good grip (70+ degrees outside); much, much quieter. Keep in mind my old tires (GY originals) had 18 months and 24K+. Also, I like the tread look. In today's mail was the $100 rebate form from TireRack. So far, so good. Pics? I gotta look back at a "how to" thread. Nice weekend for a little drive. What a car! What a country!
