Why can't you run on any thing else.

The best I can do in Calif is 91 octane and no other choices that I am aware of and I work in an Oil Refinery making the stuff.

Don't you know, it'll stop working.

91 is the max I've seen in Oregon unless you buy racing fuel.

You are experiencing what you may be too young to have experienced in the past.....the demise of leaded premium was the same......near the 'end' I used to plan outings in my gen one big block and Z28 camaros to hit the known leaded premium stations along the route.

2006 owner's manual, page 5-5.

If your vehicle has the 6.0L V8 engine (VIN Code U),
use premium unleaded gasoline with a posted octane
rating of 91 or higher.
What are you driving?

All C6 corvettes have two stock tunes. One is for high octane and the other is for low octane. They also have knock sensors that determine if the car is detonating from too low of octane and will pull timing accrodingly. Nothing to worry about using the low octane, you will just be running a tune that has a few degrees less timing and you would never be able to tell the difference. If you had your car custom tuned for 93, then you'd be screwed. Otherwise, your ok. You should really keep a bottle of octane booster in your car too if you should happen on a gas station that doesnt have 93.
