at 295 in 05,those comp gray wheels were/are a bargain compared to over a grand for chromies, plus the look is different and not everybody and their mother has them!!!They provide a whole different dimension to the car.A side benefit is they hide every bit of brake dust that comes off the pads!
considering what people pay for other wheels, the comp gray are a bargian, they sure look allot better than the chrome painted
the best $300 I spent on options IMO, and they look great with any of the colors except perhaps AO (only because I haven't seen it yet)
They charge $395 extra for them because they are painted with COMPETITION gray paint. I think the paint is specially treated to make the car go faster! I have it on very good authority that the special paint will add at least 10mph in trap speed.
No gold chain or cigar here, just Chrome rims and a NMRA Ford Nationals Drag Racing License plate frame letting you know I won't hesitate to put you behind me.
But, I still like the Bling GM chrome rims.
Weird since I always say chrome won't get you home?
I would never spend any $$$ on aftermarket appearance items for example.
I guess that is why they make chocolate and double chocolate brownie chip fudge chunk.
I like my comp greys. Always a good conversation starter. Everyone comments (positively) on them.
You run into friends of yours, an attractive couple, walking their new baby in a stroller.
You peek in and see a funny-looking kid. You look at the baby a little longer than you planned to, wondering what cruel genetic twist of fate has rendered to this couple their unattractive offspring.
You turn to the proud parents and remark "What a beautiful baby you have!"

Same thing with the wheels.
The important thing is that I like them. To each his own, eh? Some folks like chrome, some folks like Z51 badges, some folks like comp gray.
I'm getting really tired of petty, non-humorous, repetitive, mean-spirited posts on the CF. I am happy with the choices I made for my C6, and I am happy for anyone who is happy with the choices he or she made.
Please excuse me while I go hug my car.

Low quantity, line changeover labor and overhead in the plant that makes them. That costs money. As the lowest option on the '06 at least, they will become an additional call out someday. Just like some of the other stuff from back in the day has been. However, while I would not have ordered them, I am very pleased with how they look on my black coupe. If I were ordering today, I would include them. Better than any other wheel option, imo. Cr wheels, while nice looking, are a dime a dozen. The gray is unique and makes the car look sinister.
