Default Help....brake dust!

Other than going the ceramic pads route, is there another solution to control the brake dust?

Thanks

Wash them and use RejeX on them, or buy those dust covers and hide your brake disks from view, very ugly look IMHO

Thanks, I really like the look of the gray wheels with VY, but I'm also tired of having to wipe the dust off the quarter panels after a drive.

Rejex does a super job of controlling brake dust. Especially good with bug splats! They just "pop" right off with a squirt of H2O

Don't want to sound stupid, but how do I apply the Rejex to the pads?

Why it is a pain in the butt to do I still don't mind doing it. I use a California duster on the body and then just some windex on the wheels. At the most you are taking about 10 minutes.

I also use Rejex on the wheels about once a month.

Keep the car waxed & use a California duster after taking a drive. Brake dust is going to happen with wide open wheel rims & performance brakes.

Don't put Rejex on your brake pads!

I have LMB w/comp gray and don't see any dust on the car after I drive.Must be the lighter colors.I heard HAWK PADS are good for an alternative.

2 coats of Rejex on the body and wheels per driving season.

You're going to get brake dust no matter what you do, but with Rejex it wipes right off with a damp cloth.

I use a california dash duster, removed the handle and replaced with a skinny coat hanger for a handle.
You can get the dust off inside the rims this way really easy on all four rims. Takes 10 minutes.

I have the Z51 package and the stock pads were horrible with brake dust. I changed them out with the Hawk HPS pads and the reduction of dust is 100 times better. Not only is the dust mostly gone but I have better stopping power and no squeal.

I didn't think it was right to put Rejex on the pads, but thought I'd ask. Must've just misunderstood.

Thanks

I have the Z51 also and I get the dust all around the rear and in the tail light areas. Are the Hawk pads ceramic?

You could try running a Gerbel inside each wheel.

No - They are not ceramic but the brake dust is minimum. The Hawk HPS pads are a street pad with better stopping than ceramic. If you are looking for a low dust pad and great stopping power these are the best I have found.

Clean them up real good and put a coat of Rejex on them. It won't stop the brake dust, but it makes taking it off a lot easier.

Thanks......I checked their website and it said PepBoys has them in my area. I called local PepBoys for more info, but they don't have anything listed for a 07' yet.
