Hi,
I'm having problems getting my remote control buttons to control garage door opener. First of all, my vette has the system with 3 LEDs. My garage door opener was installed when my home was built in 1987.
My hand held remotes have a set of 8 DIP switches which seems to be a fixed code system. I tried many times to follow the procedure but to no avail. Is it possible my system is too old to be controlled by the vette?
I noticed that the procedure for the system thats indicated by the single triangle would probably work, though I didn't try it. Since the manual says to use the section with the 3 LEDs.
I have a 2002 Acura MDX that was able to be programmed by learning the old remote. Why can't I do this on my new vette? Has anyone else had problems with this?
Thanks in advance,
Steve

Reason: typo
Everything worked fine until GM changed from HomeLink to a cheap knockoff to save money.
My last car had Homelink and I programed it in under 5 minutes.
Had to do the one in my 07 coupe several times before I mastered it.
What a pain in the ****!!!
Thanks, I assume I need the conversion module. My question is: Where does the module get placed/installed? Does it go in your car or next to (or attahced to) the garage door opener?
Just programmed my '07 Z06 with the 3 LED / Lear system. Rolling code garage door opener programming worked no problems. The gate to my community has a 9 DIP switch gate opener. I couldn't get the gate opener to work but then realized the Lear instructions say "ignition on, engine off" and I had my engine running. Turned the engine off, ignition on and bingo it worked. The Corvette Owner's Manual doesn't say anything about the ignition on-engine off requirement.
