It will void your warranty, ruin your transmission, and blow up your engine.

No it shouldn't void your warranty unless the dealer wants to find an excuse if you ever have transmission problems.

No, but that $25 down the tubes could've gone to the gas tank. If you don't drive it like a little girl, the 1-4 like won't come on much. I've had it happen maybe 4 times in two and a half months, and I then just put it in 3rd. You really have to shift early for this to be an issue.

Some of us who actually live in a downtown area are forced to drive it "like a little girl" as you say so eliminating CAGS is a good idea. But that's what a good tune is for and you don't have to worry about plugging in anything.

Hahahaha..Man for a minute there I thought I was the only one who drives "like a little girl". Actually it shouldn't void the warranty but I guess you never know. I'm sure if your dealer wanted to make an issue about it if you had a problem they could but it really only "fools" the system. Just plugs in between the connections. I agree with sabooher eliminating CAGS is a good idea, however you probably risk voiding the warranty with a tune just as well. I'm very cautious too about voiding the warranty as the car is not paid off and I just installed the CAGS eliminator. When you see how it actually plugs in, I don't think you'll be too worried about voiding anything. It litterally took 5 minutes. Check out BUGMAN'S website, he shows you step by step with very good pictures. And to me it was worth every penny $$.

Actually when I bought the car, the dealer told me where to purchase the skip shift eliminator. I drove it for a week and put one on. That's one of the most annoying things I've ever experienced on a car. We have some heavy traffic around here and have to drive easy (like a girl) most of the time. I don't want the computer telling me what gear to shift to, I'm a big boy and can figure that out myself.

It doesn't activate very often for me, but when it does it is very annoying (and possibly dangerous). I'll be putting the eliminator on soon to avoid it entirely.

My dealer put mine on my 98 when he did my free first oil change. No problem!

I have not put one on my C6 as it does not seem to be a problem. I think the reason is I have a Z51 and the lower first gear ratio gets you above the CAGS catch point faster.

Once you have put on a CAGS eliminator in 5 minutes, you can take it off in two minutes before you visit the dealer.

There is no reason for GM to mess with the warranty because of a 1-4 eliminator kit because it's actually insignifigantly easier on the drivetrain to not skip from 1-4.

If in doubt though, follow Clevite kids advice a couple of posts before this one.
