I purchased two 05 vehicles , a tahoe and a vete, both new 05's, both wih nav systems. neither are compatible with each other. GM now wants exoberdent fees to up date these systems. They are talking upwards of $300.00 for each unit for each yrs upgrade. That's, $1200.00 for the two units, (600 each) if word gets out that, that's the way hey are they will not sell many nav. a hand help on the dash is a better buy. I have not had any luck with a repo disk. Any suggestions to this problem? I can't be alone in this delimina.

You don't have to update it every year! How's the disc you currently have? Is the area you live in change frequently?
BTW look for Torrents of 3.0
Norm, I think the up-grades are basically a waste of money. I doubt anyone can justify the cost of an up-grade, when the roads don't change that much. Like said before, find someone who will give you their 06 disc after they got a free up-grade and you will only be 1 year behind the new up-grade.
