To summarize, her main complaint was the loud popping on decelleration while in gear. To be honest, it was bit much for me at times too. So this morning I had a Corsa X-Pipe installed, and it works as advertised. There is still a healthy burble on decelleration while in gear, but the fire cracker pops are gone, and the whole system sounds smoother through the entire RPM range. Overall, I'm very pleased with the end result.

You're happy, excellent.
What's lousier than something that doesn't meet expectations and wasn't inexpensive?
I've often wondered --after reading countless forum mambers review the aftermarket exhausts-- if the aftermarket exhaust manufacturers don't deliberatley design thier exhaust systems knowing full well unless their X-Pipe is used, I'll produce all kinds of pops & resonance acceptable only to a minority of people.
Would be all-too-easy to do and like so much else would be blatant manipulation conveniently called, "marketing".
These days nothing can, does or would surprise me.
Not anymore.

I have Corsa Sports and X pipe on order now so it is nice to see the positive report on your set up.
My `74 Corvette had headers and, for lack of a better term- glass packs that gave it a healthy sound and a nice lope from the engine given the cam we put in the new 4 bolt.
The C6 seems far more mild than I'd like except under full acceleration and frankly, I'd like a little more muscle car sound. But too many of these posts refer to engine drone at speed and the popping on deceleration that would probably drive me nuts.
I know it's a matter of personal preference, but there just doesn't seem to be a universal consensus of what the "best/right" sound should be and the exhaust systems are too darned expensive to experiment-- only to come away less than satisfied.
I guess the best thing is to listen to the engine song of each car individually at a cruise-in or Corvette club meeting and pick the one that sounds "best".

So have you noticed a change in sound while at idle or at full throttle with the X-pipe installed?

Ride over to GHL Motorsports in Mesa and listen to their system, it's just the type of old school muscle sound you describe.
