help with noise

I just got my new 07 Coupe 6 speed with 13 miles on the odometer off the truck today from Bud's. When I shift starting in first gear, there is a loud rattle sound from the rear end.

Does not sound like something that will go away in the break-in period.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mine never made noises like that, you should probably take it in and have it checked out. That's what a warranty is for.

Might be "gear rattle" which is common in these cars.... but it shouldn't be "loud". "Gear rattle" is actually just the dampener springs in the clutch disc "rattling"... usually happens approximately between 800-900 rpm only in either 1st or 2nd gear. Mine has done it since day one and still does it... it's pretty well documented as being "normal". No harm, just a little noise. This may or may not be the noise you're hearing though.
