GM introduced the C6 to the public in Red with Cashmere. They plastered the same combo all over their brochure and created the short lived ad with the kid smoking the tires in the same combo. But what would they know? Looked good to me so I took my wife's advice and ordered that combo. Could not be more pleased. No regrets. None. Zip, zero, nada, zilch!
Interesting... Any chance you have a photo to post?
Thanx - Brad
I regret that I haven't taken any photos, but then I'm not sure photos do it justice anyway. It's a fairly common special order combination, so if you look around your area you should be able to find one to look at up close and personal. That's what I did, and after that the decision was easy.
Is a silver exterior with cashmere interior nuts? I like both, but wondering if anyone has that combination or has seen that in a C6. Pics?
Thanx - Brad
I just took delivery of exactly this color combination. Obviously I don't think its nuts to order this combo as I prefer a lighter interior and I think tan with silver looks great. I had to order the car because practically all Machine Silvers in dealer stock have the black interior. Here are some of the pics I took just recently:
Besides cchung's pics, I've seen the combo on other makes of cars. It's unusual and not common, but doesn't look bad to me. Matter of fact, the pic from cc looks pretty good!

I think this combination is very nice....its simply a matter of personal taste....not everyone likes the same thing. If that is what you like then go for it...don't worry about what someone else might think...its your car...not theirs!!!!
Looking at the pics, I say it goes. Get what you like I am going silver & red/black interior for my next one For now, I live with Black/cashmere. You know why it is called cashmere b/c when you sell it, it is more cash for me
I love the Cashmere interiors, particularly with the painted console bezels on Monterreys or Magnetic Reds, or LM Blues.
I have seen it with Silver and I just couldnt bring myself to like it. Its like they wash each other out.
Now I was looking at convertibles, so maybe in a coupe there is less opportunity for the colors to be seen side by side, but with the roof down, it was tragic.

I think silver with beige, tan or cashmere looks great. Very classy and refined. I have seen many Mercedes, Porche and other European exotics with this combo so it's not strange at all. I owned a 2001 C5 convertible with the Pewter/Light Oak combo and constantly got compliments on the colors.

My pics aren't as good as CChung's but here they are. I took them of a car that was at the National Corvette Museum when I visited there in February. Personal taste is just about as subjective as things get. With that in mind, I have to say that this color combo doesn't work for me at all. I went with all Ebony in my Machine Silver Coupe with no regrets, though I'd be just as happy with Titanium, Red, or the extra-cost Titanium/Ebony or Red/Ebony 2-tone seats.
My 07 coupe is silver with cashmere interior and it looks cool and actually is cooler temperature-wise and stylistically than the predictable black interior in most silver cars. This color combo is one of those that has to be seen to be appreciated, but it is fairly common on high-end imports such as Jaguar, Lexus and Mercedes. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't like this combo when they actually see it, although some folks will say that it didn't sound good before they saw it. Many people say that it looks sophisticated. I always avoid black interiors, since they heat up like mad in summer and, in a relatively small interior like a Vette's, they invariably look like an upholstered cave. BTW I also got negative opinions from the great unwashed on the forum a year ago when I asked about this color combo. Buy what you like.
The best photo of a silver/cashmere Vette is one someone on the forum sent me when I asked the same question as you, about a year ago.

IMO, I would have said no interior but Red or Black looks good on MS, but after seeing those pics, I think the Cashmere looks great! I really wanted tan for my VR coupe, but the cashmere is too light in color. I would have prefered a darker tan like the one in my early Miata.
