Default Please help! Need GMS number.

I am attempting to purchase my third Corvette and my first NEW one. I have read several times about "GMS Pricing" and have been told by the dealer if I were to walk in with one of these "GMS Numbers" that I could buy a 2007 1LT Z51 for $40607!!!

I am now asking that some generous soul share with me how I might obtain one of the "numbers" to save the money on my new vette.

Thanks,
Tony

$40,607.25 to be exact:

Vehicle: 2007 Corvette Coupe
Selected Style: 1LT
Total MSRP: $46,770.00
MSRP: $45,075.00
Color & Options: $1,695.00
Total MSRP: $46,770.00
GMS Price: $40,607.25
Technically, GMS (Employee Pricing) certificates can only be given to Eligible Family Members -

Who is eligible for the GM employee discount?

Spouse
Children
Stepchildren
Grandchildren
Stepgrandchildren
Grandparents (including in-law and step)
Parents
Stepparents
Siblings (including full, half and step)
Mother-/father-in-law
Sons-/daughters-in-law
Brothers-/sisters-in-law
Same-sex domestic partner (Where applicable. Please check with the National Benefits Center at 1-800-489-4646.)
Good luck.

It is easier to get the "Supplier Discount for Friends" as these can be given to anyone, not just eligible family members. Discount is not as good, but still nice:

Selected Style: 1LT
Total MSRP: $46,770.00
MSRP: $45,075.00
Color & Options: $1,695.00
Total MSRP: $46,770.00
Supplier Price: $42,427.83

GMS is employee pricing. The only way to get it is to be an employee, or a blood relative of one.

I think he's really asking for "GMSupplier/GMID" .

I was told by the dealer... As long as I have the number at time of contract, I would get the lower price. No questions asked... I do not know what is or isn't involved... BUT it is starting to sound like it is not that easy...

No, the price he quoted is GMS (Employee) pricing, not Supplier pricing (or Supplier Discount for Friends).

No problem...(Marry a GM factory worker, male or female) or:

Who is eligible for the GM employee discount?

Spouse
Children
Stepchildren
Grandchildren
Stepgrandchildren
Grandparents (including in-law and step)
Parents
Stepparents
Siblings (including full, half and step)
Mother-/father-in-law
Sons-/daughters-in-law
Brothers-/sisters-in-law
Same-sex domestic partner (Where applicable. Please check with the National Benefits Center at 1-800-489-4646.)

Apparently you don't qualify. If the dealer wants to give away all his holdback he can sell it to you for that though...

If anyone gives you a GMS number (and you are not an eligible family member as listed in several posts already), then they risk losing their employee discount privileges entirely.

You are much more likely to get the Supplier for Friends discount. The difference is $1,820.58, but I imagine the price is still better than your dealer will give you without a discount certificate.
