Default 2008 Ordering Process

Now that the 2008 "ordering frenzy" is upon us, many of you that are experienced ordering Corvettes might be willing to help educate those of us who have no experience. I have searched and obtained some information, but not everything is clear yet.

For example:

1. Can a Dealer place an order any day of the week or just on Thursdays when weekly constraints are published?

2. Is the Dealer given an order number immediately when the order is placed?

3. Given that the Dealer has sufficient allocation and no order options are on constraint, does GM accept all of the dealer's orders when they are placed?

4. Does GM accept orders continuously during the week or only on a particular day each week?

5. Does GM update order status continuously during the week or only on a particular day each week.

The ordering process still seems mysterious and many Dealers do not go over details with customers (probably because they know the system, but forget that it is not clear to the customer). Thanks for any help that the "old timers" can give to us "newbies". I am sure others would also appreciate the information.

Not unless your dealer's got an almost immediate allocation. Not all dealers do.
