'02-'04 C5Z has a few advantages:
slightly lower weight
better gearing
less intrusive TM
non-runflat F1 supercar tires
power is essentially a wash
This usually results in somewhere around a .1 or .2 ET and 1-2mph difference, drivers/track DA/track prep being equivalent.

...not true; I have a 2007 with the A6, got the jump off the line and a stock 2004 Z06 caught and passed me at the airport run I mentioned above. Again, if both are stock, the 2004 Z06 is faster than a 2005-2007 C6, regardless of Z51, automatic or manual. This assumes comparable drivers. Now the 2008s will likely be a different story!

No offense buddy, but you don't know what you are talking about. First of all if he ran 11.9 he would smoke your stock C6. I would love it if an 05, 06 and 07 vettes were faster than 03and 04 z's, (stock) but they're not. People that spend enough time at the strip know this. The C5-Z will win every time, all other things being equal. He might not be a good driver, and you might win. But if he is you'll need to catch him on an off night to beat him.
IS WHAT MOST LIKELY THEY ASKED HIM WHAT HE MIGHT RUN!!!
AND PUT IT ON THE WINDOW!!! WHEN I SAY A Z-51 MN6 AND NOT A SLOW AUTO A6 WILL BEAT THE Z06 02/03/04 COME TO MY NEIGHBORHOOD !!! FAST GUY WILL SEE!

And why is a Auto Slow? versus a Z-51 mn6? My Z-51 AUTO has no problem next to a manual. it's ridiculously close in performance...usually easyer to launch

First, can you please type in English.
Second, typing in all caps makes you look foolish.
Third, anyone who knows anything about these cars knows that in most cases(assuming they are stock) an 04 z06 will outrun a 07 mn6, z-51 or not. It has been proven time and time again.
Fourth, why don't you check the 1/4 mile challenge thread and see what the fastest bone stock qtr mile time was run by. It was run by a "slow" non z-51 A6.
Fifth, I think I just found my first candidate for the ignore button.

The C6 is substantially faster in the top end, which isn't a factor until you get to ~140, then you will walk away from him. .2 max is within driver skill spread, tread on the tires, best lane, and a dozen other things including manufacturing tolerances. Have fun!
