I bought a 95 Polo Green vette from Corvette palace in Austin Texas.
The Car had 30xxx miles on it ,it had a small oil leak, but other than that it was fine. Long story short we decided to pull the motor and have it tweaked, and rebuilt. We discovered that the motor was possibly not the original *(We haven’t checked the numbers), the transmission was a remanufactured one from Gm, along with a reman torque converter. This is what is important, we decided to drop an LT4 in the car, and we sent the computer off. The guy calls us today to inform us that he could not work on the computer since it was locked and was made so that the car would just run.
Now we thougt to our selves(me and my dad) that the place we bought the car from ,all the corvettes have EXTREAMLY LOW MILEAGE.I just thought it was kind weird and coincidental for my "LOW MILEAGE" to have the computer tampered with, and them selling a bunch of low mileage cars.

I just wanted everone to know about this little thing that happend to me.

and their website is

Not sure I understand the point here -- how is a car's computer "locked so that it just runs?" I assume you are saying that it was tampered with or altered in some fashion? To do what? Any computer's programming can be altered - ask the folks at Superchips, Predator, etc.

More to the point, I think the real issue you have here is that you feel the dealer mislead you in some fashion. That may very well be true, but did he/she state that what you were buying did NOT have the issues you've found? Or, are you saying that you think the guy rolled back to odometer to cover an abused 13 year old Vette?

I sent my computer off to be altered so that it can run a LT4 motor,
the guy told us that the computer had been tampered with and locked so that no one could back in it.
and second yes I do belive that this cars od. I mean oil leaks happen, thats a given and we knew about the oil leaks, but we found a lot more stuff once we pulled the motor out. Im just letterin other corvette enthusists know about my car and where I bought it from

Default Thats the scary thing about used cars

Its scary, when you buy a used car it is hard to know for sure what you are getting.

I hear Corvette Palace buys their cars at auction, often unseen. I don't know for sure. I can say that from walking their showroom, they seem to focus mainly on barely used Vettes that look new. It could be that instead of them pulling the wool over YOUR eyes, someone else pulled the wool over THEIR eyes.

Anyway, it does sound like your car might be high milage with a lot of work done to pretty it up, roll the odo, and then dump it. Maybe...

Hope you can get it all straightened out.

For your next Vette, I would strongly suggest Corvetted Country. I feel very confident in their mechanic and their honesty. CP doesn't even have a service department, so they may not even know what is going on with their own cars.

Unfortunately, a lot of cars sold at auction are shined up rebuilds...You really need to know what you are buying and the history of the car. I bet a Carfax will turn up some interesting stuff....
