ok guys i need help (be nice)
07 3lt
when i turn off the car the seat slids all the way back for easy exit. right. when i get in i have to push button 1. i thought that the car know the fobs 1 for me 2 for me xtra. my thinking when i get in the car with fob 1 the seat should readjust with out me pushing the button.
how does this feature work? what am i doing wrong or not doing?
It has to do with the clutch pedal depressed while starting and the seat sliding back and your leg not being long enough to keep the car from moving when you don't want it to. Another reason to start in neutral, I guess.
The manual tranny cars demand that you press your appropriate door memory button. Another safety feature. With automatics the recall is automatic.
Yep, 2007 owner's manual, page 11.
• If you have a manual transmission vehicle,
press and release the desired button 1 or 2.
If the vehicle is on, the parking brake needs to
be set to recall the memory position.
A single beep will sound and the memory
position will be recalled after a brief delay.
If the vehicle is on and the parking brake is not
set, three beeps will sound and the memory
position will not be recalled.

Sorry, did mean to sound so harsh. Just didn't see the listing of a C6 in your profile. I had a manual tranny C6, but didn't have it long enough to remember. However, I do have a copy of the manual here and it says what I indicated. Also, others here with manual trannies have complained about it in the past.
Might well have been different on your C5, I don't know.
In my C6 with auto tranny, it moves the seat automatically when the engine starts.
One place in the manual, it's not clear, but another place it is.
my wife first car was and 05 auto 3lt and it worked for it. my daughter's reminded me that their 3 lt mn6's require the door button be pushed i did drive 2 lt 07 wifes new car is 1 lt auto. Boy for a guy that owned a few cars you would think i could get it right.so sorry.
