Default Tire Pressure

Can anyone tell me the best tire pressure to run. The Chevy place put in 32 PSI. I have seen some ppl run 34 and some 28 psi. I have the goodyear runflat tires. A4 tranny, if that matters. I am not looking to run at the track or any autocross, just around town and up and down the highway 5 to 10 mph over the post speed. Well most of the time anyway.

The plaque on the driver's door jamb says you should run 30 lbs when measured cold. That's what I run all the time. That means I usually have to add air during the winter and let out some air in the summer.

Usually puts the tire in the 33-34 lbs. range when hot. If I have to put air in the tires while they are hot, I put 35 lbs. in and after the car sits overnight, adjust to 30 lbs. cold.

30 w/cold tire.

Figure 1 PSI for every 10 deg of air temp. i.e. measured 30 psi when 60 deg air temp = 31 psi when day temps warm to 70 deg in the afternoon.

After driving the tires will heat 3-4 deg depending on your driving style

I ran 30 for the first 12,000 miles and found the center of the rears were wearing more than the edge. I have since lowered the rears to 27. I will watch them to see if the wear improves.

30 psi. It is on the inside of your driver's door.

i run 28 all the way cold. hot they read 31/32 depending on driving style. works for me. i have found that 30 cold runs 33/34 hot and the centers wear sooner like vet4less.

The rears just seem to wear in the middle. Dropping 3 PSI didn't help mine any. Some folks have suggested that it may actually wear faster in the middle at lower pressure, given the stiff sidewalls. I don't know if that's true, but they do run a little cooler and with a more even temperature spread at 33 PSI.

Same way I do it. The psi jump into the 30's from 28 rather quickly so it's not like you're driving around on an "underinflated" tire for a long time. No uneven wear on mine so far...

30 psi when you haven't driven the car for awhile (overnight) and preferrably it's in the garage or at least in the shade.

Mine will vary between 4-6psi from cold to freeway driving on a hot day.

I run 30 cold, 31-32 hot.

Keeps itself fairly steady according to TPMS.

32 cold all the way around. I find that if I run 30 cold, the runflats squeal a lot around corners and the extra 2 PSI seems to make a noticeable difference in quieting them down.
