"Threadlocker" and "Loctite" are synonymous to most people. And thats part of the problem.

When people see that, the first thing they do is reach for the Loctite. Be it red, green or blue, whatever they have handy.

One of my points here is that Loctite Threadlocker "red", or anyone else's "red" ( extreme adhesion) threadlocker, I'd think long and hard before I would apply it to a header bolt, regardless to what the manual said. Too much of a downside.

But like what has already been said, and I agree, its your car and do what you like.

Well no. When you simply say "threadlocker" people generally think "Loctite".

In the end it is your car and money so do it however you would like.
Broken head bolt due to not tightening in the correct sequence, or broken header bolt?
