Default Chrome or Victory Red engine caps?

I currently have Pipedreams chrome engine caps on my C6, but I was thinking about trying something different and getting Victory Red caps with silver lettering or Silver caps with red lettering for my 2008 coupe on order. (also Victory Red)

I did a very quick Photoshop to show how it will look with red or silver caps. I also plan on leaving my coolant tank stock on the new car. (I had alittle trouble trying to change the color back, but you get the idea) My current car is an A6 but I added a clutch cap because my 08 will be a MN6.

Here's a picture of my current engine bay with the chrome caps. Which caps do you like better?

It looks good either way but I would go with the chrome.

I like the chrome.

You can just move your current caps to the '08 and buy a clutch reservior cap to match (provided you kept the originals).

I've had the same question. I think I'll probably go with the silver with red lettering.

I think you should match your body color with the lettering. I'm looking into getting the chrome caps with black lettering to match my car. But in either case your engine bay looks great . You went to a lot of trouble to dress out your current ride why give this up and go to an '08? I think yours looks good as is.

Jeremy,

I agree with Ed. He talked me into going with the silver caps with red lettering rather than red caps wtih silver lettering and he was right as far as I am concerned. I like the contrast of colors. It makes the caps really stand out. Plus my fuel rail covers have silver lettering on them.

Nothing wrong with the red caps, but they will not stand out as much with all the red you already have under the hood. It depends on what look you want. The more red painted items under your hood the more I like the silver caps. Personally I like your chrome caps too.

Here's my engine with the silver caps, although I think you have seen it before. The pictures really don't do the contrast the justice that seeing them in person does.

I just did a quick chop and added it to my original post. Now I'm starting to like the look of the silver caps with red lettering after looking at ZPirates car, I can't make up my mind.

All chrome. You already have enough red in there. Don't over do it. Just my opinion.

Jeremy,

Here is a picture taken outside in the sun. The others where taken in my garage one day when it was raining. The colors are better in this picture.

I have red caps with silver lettering and wish I would've done the reverse. Mine and ZPirates look almost exactly the same except my coolant tank isn't painted. My caps seem to get lost in all the red painted pieces. Too late now though.

I think I decided against getting red caps, although they do look nice. I like the contrast of the silver with red caps so I might go with them.
