Well, it seems that I have a "special" shifter on my car. The shifter is giving me a "snap" sound as I move through the gears. It is totally local to the shifter handle and nothing further down in the shifting mechanism. At first, I thought I was getting sloppy and my ring was "clicking" the top of the shifter but dat ain't it. The snap happens immediately upon pressure to move to the next gear. It happens in all of the gears so it's common to the shifter handle.
Before you ask, NO, I've never power shifted this car.
But, I did see a "snappy" turtle once...and that was one big honkin' **** turtle, too; had a head about the size of a football and a shell about the size of a freakin large garbage can lid. At that instant, he had a fish hook and line in his mouth, and he was madder'n heck.

I have a feeling that me and the dealer will need to meet to resolve the snap in my life.
