Default '08 split spoke wheel

Is the sterling silver split spoke wheel shown on the Indy pace cars the exact color and finish as the base wheels for the 08's ???

They appear to be, but it's hard to determine from pictures alone.

I'm getting ready to put my order together.

Thanks

Yes, they are the exact wheel. Here is a photo of the base wheel on an '08 in Bowling Green.

Here's the view on a Atomic Orange Coupe:

hmmmm

not as bad looking as I initially thought it was. maybe just the angles I've seen on the pace car made it appear that way.

I'll be curious to see what that looks like in Chrome, polished, and comp grey.

I DO like those new upgraded wheel option, even though I'm not a fan of the polished look.

The split spoke wheel is only available as the standard painted wheel or the competition grey painted wheel for the 08 model year. The polished aluminum wheel is a new 5 spoke forged design while the chrome wheel is the same 5 spoke design from last year.

The only choices for this wheel are painted (as shown) and comp gray as shown here:

If you want chrome you will be getting the QX3 Chrome wheel available on the 2006, 2007 cars. If you want polished the only choice is the forged wheel as seen on this slide (note the reference to the old style chrome that is available also:

Default hmmmm......

I agree -

I didn't like them at first but after looking at indy pace car pics on ebay i think they look ok. i have them coming on my 08 thinking if they don't look good i'll replace them with aftermarket Z06 style rims OR just pick up a set from 2005-2007 from folks who are selling their OEM's.

I think they look pretty good. I do not think the chromes look $1850 better. I also like the idea of having a wheel that has 5 spokes by 5 spokes, 5 by 5, since it is the 55th anniversary of the car.

Come on guys, they are not that bad. I mean blowing chunks bad?

They might look a lot better with a decent aftermarket chrome job? Ehh, well maybe not

If they made them look good, no one would buy the high-profit OPTIONAL wheels

It could be worse, they could be wagon wheels...

The polished rims look way better, IMO, and they are also forged too so they will be lighter. So you get your money's worth with that option.

I don't care for them, but I know the aftermarket will have chrome versions available - that might look okay. As you know, my car will have those split spokes on them......until about an hour after I get home - then the CCWs in the picture below will be on it

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I wasn't aware that there was only 2 color options for the new wheels. I LIKE that shade of grey on the comp grey wheels ALOT.

I really like the new forged wheel as well.

I've really tried to warm up to the new rims but every time I look at either the split spokes or the other gumby style wheels it makes me
