So I haven't bothered to learn the navigation system yet, could someone please let me know how to turn off the guidance? My friend set a destination by pressing a lot of buttons and I can't seem to turn it off. I went through the menus on the touch screen and I could find a way to turn it off.
I use mine all the time and I'm always finding out some of the new things the nav system can do.
For cancelling guidance, hit the back arrow when in map mode, then go to Route Options, then hit Cancel Guidance. Also, in Navigation Setup, you can change Guidance Volume - I personally find the voice guidance irritating, so I set the volume to OFF.
When your HUD is in Street Mode, the guidance directions show up in the HUD, as well as on the Nav Unit.

I'm at work right now in my '99 and not the '07 so I don't have my owner's manuals with me. But, if I remember correctly, there is a trip or route options button that you touch which will then show at the bottom a "Cancel Guidence" button. It will ask you to confirm and thats it. Forgive me if I missed a step in there.
